I don't have the DVDs (is Batman officially out?), but I can't wait to re-familiarize myself with the episodes this way. I don't mind saying the new Batman movies don't have the magic that this super-fun series inspired!
I have fond memories of the show and I'm hoping it holds up (haven't seen any eps in over thirty five years) but I'm also a big fan of the Nolan films. I grew up reading Neal Adams' take on the Dark Knight rather than Curt Swan's so I like Nolan's noirish universe. We'll be doing spotlights on the various incarnations (comics and otherwise) and we've got a couple of surprises up our sleeves as well. Stay Tuned!
If you guys need anybody to dig up bio stuff on the various old-time guest villains, let me know! That's one of my specialities! I did a lot of that kind of stuff for TCM's Movie Morlocks! I like the crazy stuff about them!
Zowie! and Zonk! Great teaser page -- i've just finished Car 54 Where Are You (hilarious show that would make great fodder for some quick witted, occasionally lewd characters) and ready for some serious silliness...
I've got that beat, Craig. The best thing about this blog is that my work is finished and I can just go back and enjoy it now and then! Hope you enjoy it as well.

ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we'd love that. Can you contact me at penfantino@gmail.com? Thanks much!
Just let me know when you cover the episode where Robin utters that immortal line "Holy knit-one, purl-two, Batman!"
ReplyDeleteNot that easy, Ted!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to check in every day.
Say John and Peter,I see that the Batman series still isn't out on DVD. You'll have to go from memory! Or, HULU?
ReplyDeleteA post on the MAD magazine parody is de rigueur.
